Watching his father at work inspired his career choice. 

鈥淏elieve it or not, I have wanted to be an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon for as long as I can remember. I played hockey growing up, and my dad was an orthopedic surgeon taking care of the Detroit Red Wings. For whatever reason, instead of wanting to become a pro hockey player like all the other kids, I just wanted to be the team doctor like my dad.鈥濃�� 

He is a family man. 

鈥淲hen I am not working, I鈥檓 hanging out with my wife and two boys. My family life takes over when I get home, and I like to spend as much time with them as I possibly can. I also try to squeeze in a workout and time in the sun whenever I can.鈥� 

He enjoys playing golf. 

鈥淚f I could trade careers with anyone in the world, my gut reaction is someone like pro golfer Scottie Scheffler. Getting to travel all year to nice climates and make a living playing golf sounds like a lot of fun.鈥�

鈥淚 chose to practice at an academic medical center because during my residency program, I came to truly appreciate the attendings for their dedication to training the next generation of orthopedic surgeons. It takes patience, but being a teacher and a mentor is critically important and deeply rewarding. It can be a lot of fun, too.鈥濃��
